In recent days, Zhejiang Songsong Textile Co., Ltd. has been actively pursuing technological upgrades and innovation, driving the transformation of the textile industry, expanding its supply chain, and enhancing the competitiveness of its products in the market. Reflecting on the company's early days, Yang Zhouqin, the general manager of Zheqin Song Textile Co., Ltd., spoke with deep emotion. “After graduating from school, I started working in the traditional textile industry, traveling across cities like Nantong, Shaoxing, and Guangdong to explore markets. With some savings accumulated, I bought 15 acres of land in Jiapu Industrial Park with my father’s support. We built the factory and began producing low-grade auxiliary materials such as water-sprayed chemical fiber cloths and mopping cloths, which were sold domestically to regions like Guangdong, Nantong, and Shaoxing,†he recalled.
Over the years, the company gained recognition within the industry. Faced with challenges like blue-green algae outbreaks in Taihu Lake and increasing environmental regulations in Jiapu County, Yang seized the opportunity to reshape his business. At the end of 2008, he initiated a major transformation, introducing the first batch of six warp-knitting machines. The company expanded by acquiring an additional 40 acres in the Binhu Textile Industrial Park, investing 50 million yuan to build a new production facility. It shifted its focus to high-quality fabrics, targeting markets in the Middle East, Japan, Europe, and the United States. This marked a successful transition from basic chemical fiber cloth production to premium product development. The company also achieved zero wastewater emissions, becoming a benchmark for others in the industry.
To further drive growth, the company invested in talent, focusing on production, marketing, and R&D. It gradually implemented modern management practices, transforming migrant workers into skilled production and management professionals. Additionally, the company regularly participates in international exhibitions to strengthen relationships with existing clients and attract new foreign customers. Through these efforts, it has evolved into a globally competitive textile enterprise that combines domestic sales with self-supported export operations. Last year, the company achieved a total output value of over 70 million yuan, with self-export reaching 3 million U.S. dollars.
