Normally, genuine cotton clothing feels soft, comfortable, and slightly elastic, without any slippery texture. A simple test can help identify the fabric: take a small piece of the fabric, burn it with a lighter. Pure cotton will turn into gray ash with no smoke or smell. If it emits black smoke, drips, or has an unusual odor, it likely contains synthetic blends. Some fabrics may not even burn at all, indicating they are not natural fibers.
Consumers are advised to be cautious and verify product labels carefully. With growing concerns over misleading marketing, it's more important than ever to stay informed and make smart purchasing decisions.
