The selected and inspected waste plastics can now be transferred to the crusher for the initial processing of crushing and cleaning. Typically, the crusher is equipped with a washing mechanism where a cradle-like support system holds the equipment at approximately 1.5 meters above the ground. Beneath the crusher, there’s a bucket filled with an alkaline solution or detergent. A flow-controlled tube is connected to introduce the detergent into the crusher, ensuring that during the crushing process, the detergent (and also fresh water, which requires an additional pipe) interacts thoroughly with the waste plastics inside the machine. After being crushed, the material is directly discharged into the cleaning tank.
This cleaning tank usually measures more than 8 meters in length, 1.2 meters in width, and 1 meter in depth. At the bottom of the tank, there are drainage holes to facilitate the removal of wastewater. Inside the tank, there are typically 3 to 4 guide devices installed to help direct the crushed materials. These guide devices are designed to distribute water evenly through six pipes, each featuring around ten ∮ 4mm holes on one side. When water is pumped through these holes, it creates a directed flow that carries the crushed plastic materials across the tank. On the opposite side of the cleaning tank, an automatic feeder is positioned to ensure that the crushed materials, guided by the flow, are transported to the drainage area for further processing.
This entire setup ensures a systematic approach to cleaning and sorting waste plastics, optimizing efficiency while maintaining cleanliness standards.
